Thornton police seek public’s assistance in identifying arson suspect in fires near Colorado businesses

Jennifer McRae, a digital media producer for CBS Colorado with over 25 years of news experience, has been recognized for excellence in journalism multiple times by the Colorado Broadcasters Association.

Fire crews from the Thornton Fire Department were called to respond to two fires that occurred near businesses located at 3901 E. 112th Avenue on June 3 around 6 p.m. Both fires were deliberately set by a male suspect, according to investigators who reviewed surveillance footage.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the fires is encouraged to contact the Thornton Police Department tipline at 720.977.5069. Business owners informed investigators that the man is a frequent visitor to the area and they are seeking assistance in identifying him.
