Experience the Music of Endangered Sonic Wonders with Dolby Laboratories’ New Album

First Album Pays Homage to the Seven Sonic Wonders

In honor of World Climate Day, Dolby Laboratories has created an album that pays tribute to the world’s seven most endangered sonic wonders. The album features a musical score by award-winning composer Nainita Desai and includes the sounds of a frog in Gamboa, Panama, a humpback whale in the Caribbean Sea, and many other natural wonders.

The seven sonic wonders were chosen based on criteria similar to those used to select the Seven Natural Wonders. These criteria included epic natural beauty, endangerment, diversity and distribution, ecological importance, historical heritage, geographical location, and embodiment of mystery. The album was mixed by Kurt Martinez with the goal of creating a deeper connection between listeners and Mother Nature.

Desai expressed her excitement about working on this project with Dolby, saying “I have been fortunate enough to travel around the world and experience nature’s best sounds. We often overlook the joy that these sounds bring us compared to the sights we see, but they are truly essential.” Watson hopes that the tracks will transport listeners to the heart of these natural wonders.

Dolby Atmos was used to help create an immersive listening experience for fans of this unique album. All proceeds from sales will go towards supporting EarthPercent charity organization which offers music industry a way to support organizations fighting against climate change.
