Kaua‘i District Health Office Invites the Public to Celebrate National Public Health Week with an Open House

The Kaua‘i District Health Office is thrilled to announce that they will be hosting an open house to commemorate National Public Health Week. The event will take place on April 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the district office located at 3040 Umi St. in Līhuʻe. This free event is an excellent opportunity for members of the public to connect with Hawai‘i State Department of Health staff and learn about various programs and actions they can take to address public health challenges in their community.

Dr. Janet Berreman, Kaua‘i District Health Officer, is excited to welcome everyone at the event and express her gratitude to the community and partners for their continued support in building a healthier and thriving Kaua‘i. By working together, communities across the U.S., including those in Hawaii, can better understand and support public health initiatives that ultimately benefit everyone’s well-being.

National Public Health Week is an annual celebration that encourages people to explore the many programs and services that the DOH offers to improve public health outcomes across the nation. This year’s theme, Protecting, Connecting, and Thriving: We Are All Public Health, highlights the critical role that each individual plays in maintaining a healthy community by working together with others towards common goals.

During the open house event, attendees will have the chance to meet with DOH staff from various departments such as vector control, administrative services, community health workers, public health nurses, epidemiologists, mental health professionals, food safety inspectors, disabilities case managers, and microbiologists. They will also learn about educational opportunities and career paths within public health fields available in Hawaii and across the country.

Join us at this free event on April 5th from 9 am – 1 pm at 3040 Umi St., Līhuʻe! Let’s come together to celebrate National Public Health Week by recognizing our shared commitment towards building a healthy community for all!
