Miami Celebrates Total Solar Eclipse 2024: A Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing Party and Much More!

Join us at Frost Science for a partial solar eclipse viewing celebration

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cast a shadow over a large portion of the United States along the path of totality. This eclipse, which stretches from Texas in the south to Maine in the northeast, is one of the most highly anticipated celestial events of the year. While Miami will not be directly in the path of totality this time, the city will still experience a partial solar eclipse.

To celebrate this special occasion, Frost Science is hosting a partial solar eclipse viewing party starting at noon on April 8. The museum, located on the waterfront, will offer special programming in the planetarium and throughout its galleries focusing on the science and history of eclipses. Guests can observe the partial solar eclipse from one of six levels of the museum while protecting their eyes with solar viewers.

During the event, rooftop access at the museum will be limited to active Frost Science members on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-members can purchase tickets starting at $37.95 for ages 12 and older and $26.95 for kids ages four to eleven, granting full access to the museum and eclipse programming. Activities such as building a lunar base camp, creating a pinhole camera, storytime, interactive eclipse shows and more are also included in ticket prices.

The viewing party promises to be an exciting opportunity for people to witness this unique astronomical phenomenon and learn more about its science behind it. Don’t miss out on this chance!
