The Department of Health and Human Services’ Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA-H) has unveiled a draft solicitation for the Health Care Rewards to Achieve Improved Outcomes (HEROES) program. This innovative initiative aims to assess a new payment model that motivates community-based interventions to enhance health outcomes in a targeted geographic area.

The agency intends to release the final solicitation by April 22, with applicants required to submit abstracts by June 17. Under the HEROES program, eligible organizations such as non-profits and consortiums will receive direct payments to address and mitigate specific health harms within their designated area.

This program promotes collaboration and innovation in healthcare delivery, with the ultimate goal of improving the well-being of individuals in the community.
